Scratch Tactile Reached Ghana to Promote More Inclusive Digital Education

During the 2025–2026 school year, Scratch Tactile took another step forward in its international expansion by reaching Ghana, thanks to the initiative of one of our collaborators and the support of BEINE ASOC, who made it possible to bring this educational experience to Living Grace Academy.

Over the course of four days, the school’s students and teaching staff participated in a hands-on workshop to explore the Scratch Tactile educational ecosystem, an approach that enabled them to develop computational thinking and tangible programming skills without the need for computers or an internet connection.

In a context with limited access to the internet, computer equipment, and even a reliable electricity supply, this first experience demonstrated the great potential of Scratch Tactile to bring digital skills to any educational environment, regardless of the technological resources available.

Throughout the sessions, students learned through play, solving challenges and working collaboratively, while teachers discovered a methodology that fostered logical thinking, creativity, inclusion, and teamwork. This approach supported the development of meaningful digital literacy from the earliest stages of education and helped overcome economic, technological, and accessibility barriers.

This collaboration in Ghana also provided an opportunity to continue learning and to adapt the methodology to diverse educational contexts. The experiences shared with both teachers and students strengthened our commitment to exploring new opportunities for international cooperation and bringing inclusive digital education to more communities around the world.

At Sistema THEAD, this experience reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring that educational technology serves everyone. Once again, Scratch Tactile demonstrated that it is possible to promote the learning of programming and computational thinking in an inclusive, hands-on, and accessible way, regardless of the resources available.

This initiative marked another step towards a barrier-free, inclusive, open, and accessible digital education for every child around the world.
