Sistema THEAD kicks off the school year with STEAM and inclusion training for Erasmus+ teachers
From 31 August to 4 September, at Sistema THEAD we kicked off the new school year by delivering a training programme at Sant Feliu Innova (Sant Feliu de Llobregat) and Ateneu de Fabricació Les Corts (Barcelona) for Italian early childhood and primary school teachers from the Istituto Comprensivo “Luca Belludi”, located in Piazzola sul Brenta, Padua, Italy.
The training was part of an Erasmus+ project initiated by the Italian school and funded by the European Union, aimed at training educators in STEAM methodologies and inclusive robotics. Sistema THEAD was responsible for designing and delivering the programme.
Over five days, we took a hands-on approach to maker culture, computational thinking, creative programming and educational robotics. We used resources such as Scratch Tactile, Scratch, micro:bit and Lego, together with methodologies including project-based learning and Design Thinking.
Inclusion was at the heart of the entire programme, with particular attention paid to accessible materials, low-cost tools and activities that can be adapted to different classrooms and learning needs. The aim is for the teachers to bring what they have learned back to their schools and use technology to help reduce educational and social inequalities.
